Working in the yard

We have lived in our house for a little over a year now, and we are learning about keeping up with a big yard. It is a lot of work! Our little yard in Hood River took about 15 minutes to mow and that was if you did a really good job, front and back. This yard takes about an hour and that is on a riding mower!! Oh, well it has been really nice to have for Julia now that we have done some stuff, as long as we maintain what's done, the yard isn't so bad. It's just that beginning of the season perk up that can be tiresome. It's a good thing I have such a great husband!

This is the cute sandbox that Brandon built, and he made me a matching planter box for my tomatoes and peppers. We also put a garden this year. We are still learning about what it takes to have garden, so if anything grows then we are happy. We don't have high expectations, that way we aren't dissapointed. Our beans are growing though, so i'm happy so far! I also planted my flowers. I didn't think I would get to it this year because of being pregnant, but it has been so nice early in May that I was able to get them planted. Now I just have to keep up on watering and fertilizing them so they grow!

36 weeks appt.

It's been forever since I blogged so we will start with my Dr. appt. I had my 36 week appointment today and all is fine. The baby hasn't dropped yet, which is kind-of a bummer, but everything looks good. Last week was kind-of miserable. I swelled like crazy!! My ankles were totally gone, which is totally ugly and you really can't hide that. I got my toes painted, but my feet were still funny looking marshmallow feet. They are back to normal now that the weather has cooled off. But don't worry, i'm sure they will swell up again! My doctor did say that there is no need for me to wait as long as we did with Julia. If you remember Julia was 9 days late! That is 41 1/2 weeks...ugg. It sounds like if we haven't delivered by the last week in June then they might induce me. We will play it all by year though, but it sure sounds nice to me. As long as I have a healthy baby, I'm happy! I might post pictures of my belly soon, I just have to remember to have Brandon take some.

6 weeks left!

Last night I was sitting on my bed hanging out talking with Brandon and Julia and noticed that my belly was totally deformed. I tried to take a picture but it was really funny looking and made my belly look huge, but you couldn't really tell that it was weird shaped. Anyways, let me explain why it was so weird looking. This little boy loves to hang out on my right side, like only on my right side. So my belly totally sticks out on the right and is sunken in on the left. It is crazy looking and makes me laugh. Unfortunately, the side effect is the right side of my back consistently hurts! I had gift certificate for a massage so I decided now was the time to use it. It was wonderful! But 20minutes later my back was hurting again. Not as bad, but I learned I just have to live with this for a while. It's just the way this guy likes to hang out...lop-sided! Oh, well I guess it's nice to have a reason why my back is hurting, and nice too it will go away eventually. The things we do already for our kids!

Zoo

So we are crazy Oregonians, and decided to go to the zoo this past Sunday. As you can see from the pictures it was a little rainy. It pretty much sprinkled the whole time. The good thing was that there was barely anyone there, it was pretty nice!

Doctors appt.

So today I had my 32 week appointment, and all looks well. They say my weight gain is good...who really knows that one. And we got to hear the baby's heart beat and that was good. It's amazing the difference between Julia's heart beat when she was in my tummy and this little guys heart beat. Her's was sooo much faster always! Maybe that means this little boy will be calm?!? With a sister like Julia though who knows! Well, I said we because Julia went with me, and did so great. I figured this was a quick appointment so with enough cookies she does good.

The flu

How miserable is the flu. It seems like everyone around me has gotten it this year. All of my family, even Steven who is in Cali. What is up with that?!? Well, now my name is added to the list. I have the flu, and boy is it awful to stand over a toilet when you are 7 months pregnant. I guess I should be thankful that it's the weekend so Brandon took Julia and they are hanging out at his parents today. That also makes me sick feeling and loney, but that is better than trying to deal with a 2 year olds energy today. Oh, well hopefully tomorrow will be better, it can't be worse right?!?

Oops!

I was making german pancakes for dinner tonight and wanted to melt the butter. This is what happens when you forget the pans in the oven. I'm afraid it's really not a big deal around our house when the smoke detector goes off!!
