Snow!!

This is Julia's first experience with snow (while actually walking). She loved it!! Her favorite part was trying to hit Mike and Brandon with snow balls.

This was also the day that the boys were working on cutting up some of the trees that had fallen in the storm, so Julia also got to go on a tractor ride with daddy. This was a really fun day!!

2006 Storm

So it seems like every couple of years we get a big storm around here. Sometimes our power goes out and sometimes things are a little worse than just the power. This year was CRAZY! So the storm hit Dec. 14th. We were out running errands and grabbing a bite to eat. We got home at around 7:00pm to see the lights were out. From then on our power came and went. Around 8:30 right after we put Julia down for bed we heard the weirdest noise. Kind-of a swoosh? Brandon and I both looked at each other and said 'that sounded like a TREE!' We were wrong. It was about 3 trees, and a telephone pole. Since we have lived here we have had a couple of trees fall down, but thankfully all away from the house. So we went to go see what happened and saw that the trees fell kind-of parallel to the road, but one was blocking the north bound lane, which is just past a blind hill. Not a great situation when it is pitch black from the power out. Brandon tried to kind-of flag cars down to warn them but it just wasn't working on our road, so I finally called 911. Which is a lot harder then it might seem on a night like that. Things finally got taken care of, but it is amazing how long things take when you are counting minutes. The next day when we were checking everything out we saw that the 3 trees had fallen on mega telephone wires, but didn't brake them. But the weight of the trees did brake the telephone pole the wires were connected too. It was quite amazing.

The first 2 pictures are from across the road.

These 2 pictures are from our house watching the cleanup.

Christmas tree hunting

I'm afraid that we are starting to be in the minority in the fact that we still get a real Christmas tree. We got all bundled up in our boots and all piled into Brandon's truck. His truck is pretty much filthy so we really don't have to worry about ruining anything. We are dirty before we even get to the tree lot. Julia had so much fun walking around looking for a tree. She was amazed at all the trees. When we found the one we wanted she made sure to really check it out well. It was a lot of fun taking Julia out to cut down our tree and I can't wait for next year to do it again. ( I decided that whether I want a real tree or not, we have to get one because it would look kind-of bad for nurseryman to have fake tree!!)

Another Christmas party

We got invited to some friends Christmas party at there house. No kids! It was so much fun, we haven't been to a real Christmas party in so long. It was so fun to just hang out and relax and not have to worry about what Julia was getting into. We had a white elephant gift exchange that was hilarious. I'm going to start looking for a new gag gift for next year now!

Here's a picture of all us girls. The guys picture wasn't all that great so I decided not to show it, sorry guys you'll have to do better job next year.

Christmas parties

The first party Julia and I got to go to was a Tiffany and Brooklyn's house (and baby London too). Tiffany had cookie decorating (or frosting eating in Julia's case) and snacks and a movie. The kids were so cute and had tons of fun.

Whats going on with the Schmidts

Well, I haven't been very good about posting anything on my blog lately. I think i'm going to be one of those people that when I post it will be tons of stuff, but kind-of randomly and not all that often. So here it goes, i'll try to do my best to let you know what's been going on this Dec.

Guess what?!?

Well, Brandon and I have news. Julia is going to be a big sister. Yes, we are pregnant. I just have my first doctors appt. today and all is well. They did a ultra-sound, which is pretty cool. Last time I only had one ultra-sound and that was at 20 weeks. It was pretty amazing how clearly you can see the baby this early in the pregnacy. Well, I thought I was at 8 weeks or so, but I was wrong. I am about 11 weeks already. So they figured the due date to be around July 2nd. We are all really excited. I'm glad that overall I'm feeling pretty well, and I haven't been tired like I was with Julia. That is a big blessing figuring I'm chasing an almost 2 year old around! I'll do my best to continue to update about the new baby!!

Fun Pictures of Julia

Here's my little Hawaiian baby! How cute is she?!?

This was at Brandon's aunt's house in Bend, they have pigs so Julia had to check them out with Grandma.

Yum, mom found a new sticky snack!

More Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving 2006

It's been a while since I've updated anything on here, so I thought I should finally get some pictures of Thanksgiving up. We had 32 people at Thanksgiving with one very long table. My mom and aunt Becky got it organized to have our meal at Powell Valley Church in their basement banquet room. It ended up being a lot of fun and really relaxing. We played games and looked at old pictures. It was really nice because the church left the nursery open for Julia, so after we ate she went down for a nap. We really couldn't have asked for anything more. It was a great Thanksgiving!

Julia was pretty much done eating at this point so down for a nap she went!

A new friend, and the trip home

My cousin Robyn has a good friend that has a little girl a couple of months younger than Julia so we got them together to play the last day in California. They had so much fun. Normally Julia is the one that I have to worry about bullying other kids but Jae it turned out is pretty tough. The girls would be running around the yard and Jae would run up and tackle Julia. It was hilarious!! It didn't bother Julia at all she was just a little confused sometimes.

So this was right before we were suppose to catch our flight. Our flight got delayed though...ugg. Actually, I think it was the Lord's blessing because we were able to go back to my cousins house and give Julia a nap. She would have been pretty tired and cranky without that nap.

San Diego Zoo

One day we went to the San Diego Zoo with Steve and mom. It was pretty cool, Julia did great and loved seeing all the animals. I think she liked the monkeys the best because she could really tell what they were and would make her monkey noise at them. She walked by herself about half the trip it was pretty amazing, and then she sat in the stroller for the rest of the day. It was a good thing we had Steve because he did most of the pushing!

California

These last couple of weeks have been so busy it seems like. Everything just started happening at once. The weekend before Thanksgiving my mom and Julia and me went to San Diego to visit the relatives. Julia did so great, the first two days she really didn't get naps and still was so much fun. We basically went down just to hang out and relax and see everyone again. Ok, so maybe that just means we went to show Julia off! Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Ok, so some people might not like this photo because yes my, not yet 2 year old daughter, is glued to the DVD player. We have learned that headphones are great because then she can listen really well. I don't care what people think because she was SO cute and SO good. The DVD player saved our lives, and the lives of everyone that sat by us!!

Mike was down in California too because he was playing in the alumni game at Point Loma, so we all went to watch. It was a beautiful day, about 75 with a nice breeze. It was very hard to come home to Oregon.

Not perfect

This is Julia pouting and throwing a little tantrum. I don't remember why she was so upset, but I decided to take a picture so you could see she's not perfect, close, but not perfect. Sometimes it's kind-of cute when she's so upset because she always wants a hug afterwards. I can handle that, because Julia has never been much of a cuddlier.

Black eye

I got my first blackeye this weekend, ok so maybe it's not the first, but it's the best looking blackeye so far. It didn't bother me at all, but I think Grammie felt bad because it happened at her house this weekend. I don't really care about bumps and bruises as long as you keep letting me play!! Mommy thinks it's pretty cute and keeps trying to get me to close my eye but I'm too busy to stand there and let her take a picture. Here's the best picture she got, maybe I should tell people that I've started wearing make-up, but only on one eye!

More pictures of my cousins and me!

Whenever the girls come over they love to jump. Sometimes they jump from the couch to the ottoman, but this day we made a big pile of pillows and they jumped from the ottoman to the pillows. That was after they were done playing in the ottoman. Who knew what great fun the ottoman would be?

Yes, they are not wearing pants. I don't know what it is, but lately Julia isn't into wearing pants. We will just be playing normal and all of a sudden she starts taking her pants off. Sometimes she gets really mad when you try to get her to put them back on, but today I didn't care, so all the girls ran around with no pants! Crazy girls!!

I love my cousins!

Last week my cousins came over to play. We had so much fun dressing up and being wild. I think mom was a little tired by the evening, but we had tons of fun!

Keirsten was pretending to be a butterfly, flying around the room.

How much fun is it to dress up?!! Tons!!
