Boys and boo boos

My poor boys had a couple of accidents today. Cole has started playing in our little kiddie play fort. He walks back and forth and just loves it. He hasn't gone near the slide until today. Cole decided to go down the slide head first. It was one of those slow motion mom moments...Noooo Cole...crash! I got to see him nicely land on his face in the cedar chips. Luckily he is just scratched up.



Brandon on the other hand isn't just scratched up. Brandon was trying to put Julia to bed and she was having some issues (what's new). He turned to go get something but was still watching Julia and out jumped a nasty wall...corner that is. Brandon hit the corner so hard he fell to the ground, with a inch sized gash in between his eyes. Serious bummer! This lead to a fun trip to the Mt Hood ER, sorry to anyone that works there, but that is not a fun place to be (can you say white trash). There was the guy that busted up his knee, he was on the phone to his daughter promising to not wrestle in a fight again (WWF for a 5'6" 160lbs guy?). Then there was the lady that hurt her finger 2 DAYS AGO. Why didn't you go to your doctor 2 days ago? Anyways...
After 2 hours of waiting Brandon finally got his head glued back together. No stitches, that was the whole point of going to the ER, but actually the glue is nice and easier than stitches to deal with.

So obviously I go in spurts when I blog. Sorry it's been so long! Here's a bunch of pictures from what we have been up to this summer.

Cole's 1 year stats.

We went to the doctor on Monday for Cole's 1 year appointment. It was suppose to be today, but the kid was so miserable this weekend we moved it up to Monday. Well, we didn't much talk about the basic 1 year old visit, we talked about the basic Cole doctor visits...ear infections. As of Monday he didn't have an ear infection, just fluid in both ears, but the doctor also sent me home with a prescription anyways. That's the story of our lives! I manly wanted to go in to get that checked and getting the well visit in just saved me a co-pay...so I thought. The cold Cole has gave him a nasty cough, kind-of croupy cough, so the Dr. decided to hold off on shots because Cole had to many things going on. And he was supposed to get 3 new shots he has never had, so in case of a reaction, it might be hard to tell if it was cold related or shot related. That means we go back in a week or so and get shots. Oh, well I told the Dr. I was just glad he made that decision. I think the worse part is when the nurse says, 'well, he has a little cold but we could still probably give him shots, what do you want to do?' 'I don't know that is why I take my kids to the Dr. so you can make that decision!' So far he's doing better, so who knows maybe he won't get an ear infection this time...we'll see! Ok, now the fun stats:

Weight 25lbs 14oz (he lost a few ounces since being sick) We are on the percentile chart YEAH!! 85% for weight

Height 31inches (he grew 2 inches in three months!) 85% for height

Head 70% (it only looks huge!)

Happy Birthday Cole

Today Cole turned 1. I'm afraid it wasn't the best day though. Poor Cole is so sick! He has a bad head cold so his nose is running all day long, and he coughs all the time. Poor kid! He had his 1 year check up scheduled for wed. but I switched it to Monday cuz he's feeling so miserable. On Monday we'll see if this cold has turned into anymore ear infections. The past has not been kind to poor Cole in the ear infection department, so I'm prepared to have them again (he always gets double ear infections).

Cole sure is a fun kid no matter how he's feeling. He is now pretty good at walking, and has moved on to climbing onto things. Scary but really cute to watch. He loves his sister, but can also hold his own playing with her. Cole smiles every time you bring the camera out and loves to talk and sing with us. (We think he is trying to sing?!) He is a flirt and loves attention! It amazes me how much more he is like Julia, yet how different they are. We love our little Colie (horrible nickname we know but Julia made it up!).
