We had our day planned, Brandon was getting Julia ready and going to take her shopping with my mom. And I was going to clean and get food ready for our annual Christmas party this year while Cole was sleeping. Well, instead Cole decided to split his lip open. Bummer, poor kid! He fell in the bathroom and hit the step stool. Let me tell you, lips bleed like crazy. Luckily both Brandon and I were pretty calm. Once we could actually see what happened it was obvious he needed to go to the doctor. My wonderful husband had the idea to call the pediatrician. I will now always call the pediatrician before we take either of our kids to the ER. They said they will take a look first and maybe they can take care of it, otherwise they send us to the ER to see a plastic surgeon. The kids dr is ad Adventist, so I was just happy we would not be going to Mt Hood (sorry i just don't like their ER). Turns out the doctor could do the stitches because the cut didn't really cross the lip line, it was pretty much just in the lip (hope that makes sense). So one papoose board, anesthetic shot, and two stitches later we were better. I had Brandon take a picture right before the dr did the stitches. The doctor and nurse kind-of laughed but I said, this might not be a good memory, but it was a memory and I wanted a picture!
All bundled up on the papoose board. He was basicly wrapped up like a burrito!

Smiley as ever on the way home!

He was always bleeding from his mouth because he bit his tongue.
Your mom/dad would give him a popsicle and say he would be ok.
You could have your hands full for the next 20+ years. Love Aunt Becky
Lost the end of the post Sorry!
Anyway they would give Steven a popsicle and say he would be fine soon. They didn't really do the Dr. & stitches - no wonder Steven is so tough. At any rate, you could have your hands for for 20+ years. Love Aunt Becky
Oh so sad! I am glad that he is doing okay. Do the stitches bother him? It's good to take pictures of these moments. As sad as they are, they are memories and big moments for us moms. The only picture I have of when Elsie was in the hospital was taken with my phone. I felt so weird taking it but now when I look at the picture it brings back all those memories, and I thank the Lord once again that she is just fine. Anyways, didn't mean to go on about me. I'm glad that Cole was okay and I hope you had a fun party!
poor sweet cole. glad it wasn't worse!
Poor little Cole! He did bounce back quick. His Daddy was only 9 months old when he had his first stitches, three or four above the eye. I remember the board. I think that scares them more than the stitches.
Love, Grammy
